Director of Discovery LABS Assessments
Roger Gibson Roger directs the ministry of Discovery LABS Assessments for church transition and health, church hires and church planters and is frequently involved in other ministry-related consulting efforts. Roger attended Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln, Illinois, where he received two Bachelor of Arts degrees: one in Sacred Music and one in Christian Ministries. He attended the University of Santa Clara in California where he received the Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling.
Roger began his work with individual congregations including San Bernardino, CA, Glendale, AZ, San Jose, CA and Salem, OR. He also served as the Director of Church Relations and professor at San Jose Christian College for over five years and currently serves on the board of trustees for William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA. His ministries have included various roles in five church plants and extensive consulting roles.
Roger’s assessment experience began in 1971 when he was asked to serve in the assessment for promotions of city fire and police personnel. The skills and insights gained from that process prompted the realization of its valuable application to the church community. He assessed Stadia: New Church Strategies church planters for over a decade and has assisted several other agencies in developing and establishing their own assessment programs. Several hundred people have been assessed for ministry roles under his direction.
